2024
We had a great turn out for the artist talk in October at my solo exhibition, Bough, at Wave Hill’s Sunroom Project Space. I was excited to be interviewed about the exhibition for Art Spiel, and that it was included in the Hyperallergic Fall 2024 New York Art Guide.
In May 2024 I received a Queens Arts Fund “New Works Grant”, distributed through New York Foundation for the Arts, to create a new body of work and a related Queens-based public program. My public program, “Local Patterns” was hosted by the inimitable Art Retail Therapy in Jackson Heights, Queens. The participants made AMAZING work!
2023
In 2023 I worked on a public mosaic for the Makerpark Art Park in Staten Island, hosted by Makerspace, Brooklyn. I created a wood mosaic, Trail, to be installed on a shipping container in the park. The piece was 11 feet long, with 9 separate pieces of interlocking plywood to create the backing, and innumerable pieces of plywood, hardwood, and wood from a donated 19th century mantlepiece. We (Scott) screwed the piece onto the container, and I had made inserts to cover the screw openings.
